Talk IMichael McKinnon, Sense of Security
With the rise of the DevOps movement, a chasm has emerged as it becomes evident that super fast and continuous software development and deployment is marginalising “traditional” security expertise, knowledge, and best practice. Security processes need to catch-up with this disruption, and fast – starting with the need for robust monitoring of environments and continuous scanning of vulnerabilities.

Michael joined Sense of Security in 2016 and has been working in the ICT industry for over 20 years, with 15 years experience in the IT security industry. Prior to joining Sense of Security, Michael was Global Security Awareness Director for AVG Technologies. Michael is passionate about leveraging the best technology for business growth and protecting Australian businesses.
Talk II / Demo Tim Bradey, Mathew Flannery & Michael Kennedy, Strut Digital
With the term ‘DevSecOps’ being this season marketing buzzword, certain items need to be addressed to bring this fade into realisation within our Agile DevOps automated world.
As in all aspects of security, vigilance, a thirst for knowledge and understanding of the tools is needed otherwise, as we will demonstrate, a platform can be breached and pivoted with relative ease. We will demonstrate an approach, in an automated deployment, on how to fit within a security framework, recognise a security issue, and rectify it quickly.
